Country Music - Jeffrey Steele
Jeffrey Steele has become one of the most requested and sought-after songwriters in country music history. Possessing a rare talent, he paints beautiful pictures with well-crafted words. Steele was born in Burbank, California. He laughingly tells a tale of being an eight year old youngster singing at a church function. Belting out "Joy to the World", young Steele earned a standing ovation and continued to sing the song seven more times! A few years later, he was writing his own songs and playing in bands. Steele became the lead singer and bass player for a band called Boy Howdy, winning County Music Association's award for best male vocalist and best bassist. Boy Howdy eventually disbanded, and Jeffrey moved to Nashville, where his outstanding career as a songwriter began. With over 250 of his songs being recorded, Steele's credits include "The Cowboy in Me" (Tim McGraw), "These Days" (Rascal Flatts), "Chrome (Trace Adkins), numerous cuts by Montgomery Gentry, including "Speed", "Hell Yeah", and the #1 "Something to Be Proud Of", just to hit the tip of the iceberg. Steele is also a performer and has cut a couple of solo albums. He has been honored with the prestigious songwriter award: Nashville Songwriters Association International Songwriter of the Year in 2005.
