Country Music - Jeff Carson

Jeff Carson was born on December 16 in 1964, and raised in Gravette, Arkansas. His first real taste of music was in a band formed with friends for a school talent show. He later spent four years playing in a band in the Ozarks. After moving to Branson, Missouri, and playing bass for local bands, he met his wife, Kim, who had a friend who played in a band at the Opryland Hotel. With Kim's encouragement he joined the outfit as a bass player. He eventually went solo at the hotel and secured a songwriting contract with Little Big Town Music. In 1995, Curb Records released Jeff's self-titled album, which gave him the No. 1 hit "Not on your Love". Not on Your Love brought him the title of Top New Country Artist by Billboard Magazine. Carson found success not only in country music, but also crossed over into Christian country, with #1 hits "Real Life", "Shine On", and "Scars and All". Other hit singles include "The Car", which won ACM Video of the Year in 1996, and "Holdin' Onto Something", which topped at five on the country charts. Jeff was named Country America's Top New Artist in 2000, and was nominated for the Christian County Music Awards Mainstream Artist of the Year for "Real Life".
