Country Music - Gary Allan

A man of grit and strong beliefs, Gary Allan stands firmly behind every song he sings. Regardless of whether it's politically correct or offensive to some, his music will always reflect his non-conformist attitude. Gary has taken the risk of doing something very few artists have tried, and that's singing songs about men to men, songs that relate to men and how they really feel. The message he delivers is as strong as his voice. Born Gary Allan Herzberg on December 5, 1967, in Orange County, California, he grew up a surfer boy near Bakersfield. His music career began at the age of 12, when he performed with his father and brother, and was offered his first record contract at the age of 15. The New York Times labeled Gary as the "Latest Nonconformist from Nashville West"; Bakersfield earned that nickname in the 60's and 70's from music by other nonconformists such as Buck Owens and Merle Haggard. Gary Allan may be a hard core nonconformist, but he can also sing songs which touch the ladies' hearts. His #1 hits Man to Man in 2003 and Nothing on but the Radio in 2004 goes a long way toward proving that. His platinum album Smoke Rings in the Dark got the attention of People and Country Weekly magazine, depicting him Country Music's Sexiest Star.
