Country Music - Cyndi Thomson
Born in Tifton, Georgia, on October 19, 1976, Cyndi Thomson was the youngest of four daughters. Her older sisters were musically talented and regularly sang at church and in weddings. Thomson started singing to their practice tapes, and worked herself up to the winning the George Music Hall of Fame while she was still in high school. She attended college in Georgia, moving to Nashville to enroll in the Belmont University. It was at Belmont University that Thomson met songwriter Tommy Lee James. James and Thomson co-wrote several of the songs on her first album, My World, which went gold. In 2001, Thomson had a number one hit with "What I Really Meant To Say", which held its position at the top of the charts for three weeks. Thomson's career ended shortly thereafter. In October 2001, she stopped recording, claiming pressures on her personal life.
