Country Music - Chris Cagle

This singer/songwriter from Texas is the real thing. Chris Cagle believes that nothing is handed to you and that success can be tough to achieve. Chris works hard and he sings hard; he's the real thing. A self-acclaimed redneck, he says he is his own audience singing to the blue collar working class. Born November 10, 1968, in DeRidder, Louisiana, and raised near Houston, he started playing guitar at the age of six. He left college at the age of 19 to pursue a career in music. Moving to Nashville in 1994, he worked odd jobs while performing and improving his songwriting skills. Donna Duarte, assistant to the president of Virgin Records, heard Cagle's music and introduced him to her boss, Scott Hendricks, resulting in a record deal. His first two albums went Gold and produced seven hits earning him a CMT Flameworthy "Breakthrough Artist of the Year Award" and "Breakthrough Video of the Year". Whether he's singing a fun loving song like "Chicks Dig It", or his #1 hit "I Breathe In, I Breathe Out", he tries to deliver songs to real people about real life. Cagle says "I only know one way to go Ð and that's forward"; and he pushes himself hard to get there.
